We had our first practice day last Thursday. 25 students were involved in making and broadcasting news. Some students were preparing news articles week in advance. Two yr8 students arranged interviews and were making video about the Naze cliffs, in their own time. Some yr9 students were interviewing the principal, collage bursar and other staff about the rising energy cost. They also asked collage council of their views.
We were also approached by BBC News Channel’s reporter Julia Williams and she came to give advice and support on the day. It was great experience and students really enjoyed it. Now we just have to make ‘N26’ as it is known by broadcasters in London, as good as or even better.
