Ning to support geography departments taking part in the BBC News School Report
Practice days
I was just wandering if anyone has done practice day yet or is planning to do one? How did it go? Any tips, how long was your news?
I have signed up for practice day on 12th February, 20 of geography G&T students from KS3 are given permission to of time table and we are planning to make news in style of 6 O’clock News. Students are in preparation of developing 'special reports', which are geographically based and are of local importance. They have been working on stories in small groups and in their own time. Hopefully it will go well.
Also we have now been assigned a mentor. After the first contact pulled out, I made a 'little fuss' and now have BBC Essex senior producer Deborah. She will be making a visit on the 5th February just a week before our practice day. I will report back how it went.
The time is getting near and I hope all is going well for everyone.
