BBC News School Report GeoNing

Ning to support geography departments taking part in the BBC News School Report

Signed up a while back for News Report 2010 and just starting to think about it a bit more carefully now. I used some of the lesson plans and resources when I was Head of Citizenship, but this is the first time actually taking part in the project proper.

I would appreciate any tips/advice/ideas/dos and dont's from people who've done been involved before, and I am particularly interested at the moment in optimum numbers of students and which year groups people have worked with before? (My intention is that it will be a lunchtime or after-school thing, and not limited to just one year group...)

Thank you!

I followed School Report lessons and resources and find them very usefull. It was my first time last year, so it was very helpful to follow structures of 'news making'. One tip I can give you is to have a practice day and let the School Report team know what you're doing and get the paperwork done early.

I have lessons prepared in Power Point style, I can share them if you like to save you the work.
